Part two of Jonathan Bowden’s detailed talk on five centuries of British art, and its relevance to modern young generations. Today’s historians omit the significance of art on the richness of our western European culture.
There is a tendency to play down this historic relevance, and to demean the teaching of art to young and emerging generations. Bowden correctly identifies this as denying a people of its right to acknowledge and observe its own cultural roots.
This video was probably the last of Jonathan’s recorded talks, though it seems likely some footage of his indoor speeches remain to be discovered. These will be assessed and edited once the remaining old DV tapes are individually searched.
